Hyderabad, India: Solunus Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a leading provider of Salesforce services, organized Swachh Jeevan, Swaasth Jeevan, a program to raise awareness about the importance of menstrual hygiene. The program was organized in association with Save the Child foundation, Kairos Technologies and Pennam foundation, an organization dedicated to helping the needy.
The program was held as part of Solunus’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The employees of the organization actively participated in the event, visiting households in a large slum area and creating awareness about the need to maintain hygiene during menstruation. They also distributed more than 1000 sanitary packets to financially-disadvantaged women and adolescent girls. The Dallas, Texas headquartered Salesforce services provider is a member of the Pledge 1% movement and has been partnering with Save the Child foundation to conduct various initiatives for the community.
Speaking on the occasion, Sudhakar Pennam, the co-founder and CEO of Solunus, said lack of awareness about menstrual hygiene is a major problem as it results in profound negative effects on the health and well-being of women and girls.
“Many in India are falling victims to infections during menstruation as a result of poor sanitary facilities,” said Mr. Pennam. “Swachh Jeevan, Swaasth Jeevan was launched to create awareness about the problem and help financially-disadvantaged women and girl children. I thank members of Team Solunus for taking an active part in this noble program. We’ll continue to work with our partners to come up with more initiatives to help the needy.”
