Solunus Inc. had partnered with Akshaya Patra, a leading Non-governmental Organization (NGO) to provide nutritious food to the children of the of the Mandal Parishad Prathamika Patashala, a state-run primary school in Sultanpur, near Hyderabad, India.

“We’re glad to work with Akshaya Patra,” said Sudhakar Pennam, the founder and CEO of Solunus Inc. “Many of these children get their mid-day meals at their school. However, the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in closure of the school, preventing the kids access to healthy food. We wanted to help the tiny tots, by providing them nutritious food materials and educational articles.”

Employees of the company volunteered to provide Happiness Kits to the students of the school. Each Happiness Kit contains nutritious materials such as glucose biscuits, powdered finger millet, Bengal gram, peanuts and jaggery. The kit also contains immunity-boosting substances such as Sambar powder (a mixture of lentils and various healthy spices) and turmeric, besides toothpaste, a toothbrush, sanitary napkins and various educational articles such as a notebook, pencils, crayons and an activity workbook.

The employees were very happy to participate in the noble cause. “The activity helped us discover who we truly are. The very thought we were able to alleviate the hunger of these kids is extremely gratifying and enriches our souls,” said an employee who took part in the program.

Solunus Inc. is happy to announce it is now a member of the Salesforce Pledge 1% program, an international non-profit initiative spearheaded by Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff. The program brings various corporate entities together to actively contribute for a better tomorrow.

The staff and the leadership team of one of the most rapidly growing Salesforce partners in North America will spend 1% of their time to support underprivileged sections of the societies they live in.

The company is actively involved with several social and Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) to serve the underprivileged. It serves food to more than 100 poor, visually-challenged kids at Nethra Vidyalaya, a not-for-profit boarding school and care provider, in the Indian city of Visakhapatnam. on the birthdays of its employees. The company also helps the little ones with free homeopathic medicines and health consultation services on alternate Sundays of every month.

Solunus Inc. also works with various social programs in North America, designed to help the underserved. Its employees volunteer to pack nutritious food for poor kids at the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) in Dallas. The company is a strong supporter of NTFB’s Food 4 Kids program, which helps at least 11,000 kids in the North Texas area overcome the pangs of hunger. The organization also supports various charities for the elderly, including Roanoke Community and Senior Center in Dallas.

Solunus has enacted its Business Continuity Plan in response to the current epidemic of COVID-19 

Solunus has set its Business Continuity Plan in response to the current outbreak of COVID-19. We are committed to taking appropriate precautions to provide a safe and healthy atmosphere to our people, partner, and customers and to ensure continuity of services.    

Solunus has set up rules & regulations for all the working groups that inscribe all required measures within the company and ensures stable operations & smooth communication.    

 
We have already taken the necessary steps to ensure our people and partners working for us are aware of the situation, symptoms, and preventative measures. A few elements of the Solunus BCP that we have defined include:    

  • Focus more on everyone’s hygiene and safety    
  • Restraining all domestic and international business travel    
  • Implemented work from home for all its employees across different locations    
  • Ensuring teams work together for the best outcome
  • Reducing the gathering of teams

We are continuously monitoring and following the advice from international health agencies.

At Solunus, we have asked all our people to exercise extreme caution. The health & safety of our employees, partners, and customers are of predominantly important. We have enabled a ‘Work from Home’ (WFH) environment and ensure that employees travel only in the essential cases.   

Everyday matters in our fight against this deadly disease. We can collectively overcome this crisis in a manner that is observant, thoughtful, and sympathetic towards the needs of our people.   

 As a result, I am announcing the following measures for all our people, including partners and customers, globally. They are in categories of ‘must’ and ‘must not’:   

THE MUST NOTS:   

You must not   

  • Travel by air either internationally or domestically for business purposes.   
  • Work from any of the office locations other than your primary site i.e., home   
  • Attend meetings, conferences, and events of more than 20 people.   

THE MUSTS:   

You must  

  • Self-isolate for 14 days if you are suffering from any cold or flu-like symptoms and have travel history.   
  • Undergo thermal testing upon arrival at office premises once lockdown is over.   
  • Use non-physical greetings (i.e., avoid shaking hands and close proximities) and maintain the rule of “Social Distancing.”   

All these measures apply to all employees, irrespective of role or geography.   

I am aware that these changes to our working arrangements will have a significant impact on everybody’s life. I assure you that none of the measures have been taken without conscious reasoning and consideration about what this will mean to each one of us.
