Enabling a Community College Enhance Salesforce User Adoption in a Big Way (Case Study)


We all know good user adoption of Salesforce plays a key role in making the best use of the CRM system, paving the way for high levels of productivity. About the Client

The client is a leading, publicly-funded associate degree awarding institution, based in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The community college offers more than 100 highly-affordable two-year programs, in a wide variety of disciplines.


Project Overview

The customer sought our help in resolving the problem of low user adoption of their Salesforce system. They also wanted us to configure the system to ensure complete security of their student data and track volunteer activities and donations.


Challenges Faced by the Client

  • The customer suffered from very poor user adoption of their Salesforce system.

  • The system was used by 3 departments of the institution, leading to data security concerns

  • They were unable to track activities of volunteers and donations made by various organizations

  • The community college couldn’t integrate their e-mail system (Outlook) with Salesforce

As part of our custom-built solution, we implemented Salesforce Sales Cloud. Our team also created two forms using Visualforce to capture information pertaining to web leads, besides customizing fields and page layouts for all the 3 Salesforce-using departments of the community college. Setting Up a Separate Sales Process for Each Department

Our team set up a completely unique sales process for each of the 3 departments; this went a long way in enabling each department to use Salesforce without the fear of data breaches.


Created Customized Templates to Generate Invoices

We worked with the college’s IT team to create custom templates for generating invoices, contracts and agreements (in PDF format) seamlessly, for all the 3 departments.
